So yeah, things taking longer than I thought...

I should have realized with a chapter this long, it would take more than a day or two to review...particularly since I focus upon each word, each sentence, and each paragraph, moving them around, deleting or correcting them, and so forth.

My apologies on taking so long...good news is the story is completed, I just need to review it.  Bad news is with my family visiting for the summer, mornings are the best time to review it so time is limited.  I've mentioned before how summers are bad for writing, and a lot of this is that reason...

I'll keep you all updated.  Currently finishing up Tuesday, so slowly working through the week day by day...

  1. No worries...Like i've said before, i'd rather a good chapter than a rushed one. Still can't wait to read it!!!

  2. Doc, you really need a good beta editor to handle the grammar and spelling issues. That way you can save yourself for the final polishing and kudos.

    1. I've tried editors and they just don't work. Either they don't see things the way you do or try to make the story something it isn't, and even have had one editor try to post my story and say it was there, so that's never going to happen.

Been editing my own writings for 20 years, so being the old dog and new tricks things as well as previous experience with editors, not going to happen...

  3. Morning time is better than no time. If every morning as you finish, can you give us a progress report please (for example 2rds through wed) this would be helpful thanks.

P.S. don't forget there is still the option of a little harmless family MURDER lol

    1. Well, the family are my kids who I only get to see holidays and summers, so I'm not going to begrudge the time spent with them...

    2. Oh, in terms of reporting progress in terms of % of days, that's going to be difficult as some days are longer than others and such. About the best I can do is report which day or possibly % of the entire story; however, even that is hard as I've added whole paragraphs already where one scene just didn't click right...

  4. Chaz, to do that he'd need to change the S to an A

  5. the guy who has read the rough draft should find the read of the finished version very interesting ( prob like people who get to see an early draft of a film then watching the finished product)

  6. And I really don't wan't anyone to begrudge family time, after all so many families have degrees of the dysfunctional to them that we should hold onto all the positive family (even sometimes the dysfunctional) experience we can get.

  7. Doc, you'll just have to do what's best for you. What out for those nagging inner voices and the plotbunnies with their wickedly sharp teeth.

And should you need help editing or doing layout, drop me a line.
