This was a fairly good week in terms of progress.
I've been slowly going through the initial rough draft of Lapdancing 06. Although I'm not yet finished, I'm at the point where I'm rereading the beginning of the story to make sure everybody flows and trying to catch as much of the awkward grammar and mistakes I can. I've been taking hard copies of the story and reading it during lulls at work, then coming home to transcribe the changes to the computer. I am now working on the edits of pages 60-90, so it's going well in terms of the editorial part, although the transcribing portion takes longer...but again, it is progress, as the quicker I can do this, the less delay there will be when I finally finish the chapter and get it published.
Over the weekend I was somewhat burned out on Diamond, having edited close to 60 pages in the last week, so as a break, worked a bit on one of my other stories--Extenuating Circumstances. This is a story of a husband and wife who, due to--yup, you guessed it, extenuating circumstances--the wife ends up sleeping around. As with most of my stories, it has a bit of internal anguish at what she is doing, along with the budding understanding that her husband likes that type of thing. None of that is really surprising, but I will give away one spoiler, and that would be the woman's name. Suzanne is a beautiful girl in her early twenties, taking many of her looks from her older sister. Although her married name is Carter, her married name is...get ready...Simmons. Sound familiar?
Yes, it is a story about none other than our dear Jennifer's sister...and unless you are new to my stories or have been living under a rock, you'll probably know Jen's more renowned name...Diamond. :)
How much of Diamond's life I incorporate into the story I don't yet know...she is mentioned several times briefly into the story, but I have plans for some sort of crossover eventually...but time will tell.
Anyways, wanted to post my weekly update and let everybody know things are still moving forward! My family company leaves this coming week, so I'll once again have weekends to myself so I hope to get things rolling and back into the groove once again!
What's that? Light at the end of the tunnel? Ha... Good to hear! Also 90 pages? That's one hell of a chapter! Would suggest that you'd contain yourself, but knowing that you don't like to split up the chapters you've planned out (and the fact that I can't argue against it, given how much I've enjoyed the first five parts!), I won't! But that's like 5-6 reasonable length stories on literotica, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteVery much looking forward to it! Whenever you find the time and inspiration to get through the home straight... I'm hit by the summer! Too hot to get anything done writing wise, even though I should have more time now!
Remember that 7-8 pages in MS Word are about 1 page in Literotica due to the length of the pages on Lit and the margins and spacing in Word...so 90 pages is only about 10-12 pages on Lit...still a long story, but about average to what I write, LOL.
DeleteChapter 6 is probably going to be a long one. I don't think it will be as long as Chapter 5, but I'm not promising anything.
Also this is the first draft. I'll probably weed it down a bit before the published version...maybe...Chapter 05 didn't shrink and instead grew by the time the final draft was done, LOL.
Have you ever thought about publishing 'for real' like with Amazon? I love being able to read your work on Literotica but much of your stuff is on a different level in terms of depth, length and articulacy, which is apparently a word.
ReplyDeleteThere has been discussion on this blog in the past about publishing. My plan was since Literotica stories are free, I don't think people would pay to have a full version since it could be gotten there...so what I was going to do was ILLUSTRATE the published versions and sell them.
DeleteWe all know I'm a slow writer, hehehe...that has to do with time as well as this only being a hobby and I need to work for a living ;) There are a few unpublished stories I'm working on (Extenuating Circumstances, What's In A Name?, etc.) and I may think about publishing those as a paid purchase...dunno. I could also put one chapter on Lit and tell everybody if they want the rest of the story they can buy it...not sure how that would go over...
So yes, I've thought about it...but not sure whether to only publish illustrated versions or ones I've not posted on Lit. I use Lit as a sounding board and although I know current stories are getting high ratings, who knows about a new one...scary stuff!
Doccis: Thank you for the update on Lap 6, I found your comments about the new cross over story " Extenuating Circumstances " interesting, look forward to seeing it posted someday.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to see Jim Worth's post about your work, As I have commented before I think your writing is worth publishing on Amazon.com (Kindle e book) or some other e book sites.
Look forward to reading Lap 6 when you post it. Thank you for your efforts.
Thanks! I'm not sure how much cross-over there will be...maybe Jen will visit her sister in Lapdancing...or maybe she'll appear in Extenuating Circumstances...not sure.
DeleteRight now they mention each other, but that's about it...Diamond is out in Portland, but with her traveling on her tour...who knows what may happen. In EC so far her sister knows she strips, but nothing else...but I already have plans on her finding out her sister is now doing porn in EC chapter 2...so we'll just have to wait and see.
Honestly, even I don't know what will happen, LOL...as much of this just comes from my thoughts as I write...
Doccis: WOW, did you ever kick my brain into overdrive, I have been just sitting back enjoying my summer hiatus (living under a rock), when I read your comments about “ Extenuating Circumstances “ woke me up with a bang!!
ReplyDeleteIn the time it took me to exit your blog and go back to the google home page I already had several ideas for you to consider for a story line. I will forward these ideas to you in a private e mail later this week.
Again, one of the things that I like about your story writing style and blog page is that you allow and take into consideration your readers comments, suggestions about how the story(s) unfold.
Thanks for the peak at Suzanne Simmons Carter and her up coming story.
